Library
The Library specializes in Anthroposophy and strives to make all relevant publications available, including magazines, journals and translations. It serves the School of Spiritual Science's study, research and teaching purposes and is also open to the public. Its central holdings can be researched in an online catalogue.
Opening Hours
Tuesday und Friday 2 pm - 6 pm
For research purposes, the library can also be used outside the regular opening hours, by arrangement and appointment. Please let us know in writing when you would like to work in the library.
User Information
Return and renewal
Borrowed books can be returned during opening hours or at the Goetheanum reception desk (9 am - 8 pm). Renewals must be sent in writing - mail or email - to the library.
Interlibrary loan and reservations
It is possible to reserve books in advance or to obtain them by interlibrary loan. To do so, please provide us with a list in written form of the titles you want. Orders received before Wednesday noon will be ready for pick-up the following Friday during our opening hours. Reservations will be held for you for two weeks. Interlibrary loans may take up to two weeks.
Copy and research requests
We can make copies of articles and book chapters for you and send them to you by mail or electronically. For this we need the exact bibliographic information in written form. The processing fees can be found in our fee schedule. You will be informed of the exact amount as a result of your request. The processing of requests can take up to two weeks.
Catalog
The cataloging of the collection is carried out for the areas of Rudolf Steiner's work, anthroposophical authors as well as all new additions from January 2007 and will supplement the old card catalog in this respect.
