Centenary events
Many events and a new edition of Rudolf Steiner’s first course for physicians (GA 312) are planned as ways of celebrating the centenary of anthroposophic medicine.
Rudolf Steiner gave his first course on anthroposophic medicine in Dornach in March and April 1920. We can therefore look forward to celebrating the hundredth anniversary of anthroposophic medicine with everyone who is connected with the Medical Section around the globe in a variety of events, conferences and meetings.
In addition to a research congress on Steiner’s first medical course, the new publication of that course and a Faust weekend that will focus on the medical impulse, the international conference Crossing Bridges – Being Human! will constitute the climax of this festival year. Introduced by a one-day integrative-medical congress at Basel University (CH), the idea and practice of anthroposophic medicine will be conveyed and discussed from 12 to 20 September at the Goetheanum in more than 30 lectures and over 120 specialist workshops.
How can we, on the basis of the anthroposophical understanding of human nature, do justice to the patients’ needs and sensitivities in today’s technologized world? What therapeutic possibilities have been developed since the founding of anthroposophic medicine by Ita Wegman and Rudolf Steiner? And what are the perspectives for the next hundred years?
