Janusz Korczak (1878 - 1942) is an outstanding Polish humanist and pedagogue who has further developed his extensive medical knowledge and his poetic talents into pedagogical skills in working with children. Korczak did not leave behind a closed pedagogical system, but he did leave behind an astonishing pedagogical work, which sees itself as an unconditional service to the person in the child.
