Reshaping the Society – Can We Find a Shared Form?

from 11. to 13. December 2026

Schreinereisaal

With the 2026 General Assembly and the presentation of an initial draft by the Convention, a worldwide consultation process has begun on the future form of the General Anthroposophical Society. Two strands are alive within this process: on the one hand, a renewed reflection on the 1923/24 Christmas Conference and its Statutes; on the other, the question of how we can constitutionally shape our collaboration today so that it provides a sustainable foundation for a society that can be effective worldwide.

During this consultation phase, the Convention has received numerous questions and proposals. Many respond directly to the draft, while others present their own detailed elaborations or complete alternative drafts. It has also become apparent that, on some issues, members hold differing—and in some cases conflicting—expectations. The Convention is taking all these contributions into consideration and is making them available to the membership as well. Before the conference in December, the Convention will publish a first revised version of its draft, incorporating and reflecting on the proposals that have been submitted.

Alongside this second phase of the consultation process, we would like to work together on the questions that have arisen during the Members’ Conference. Can a viable future form for the General Anthroposophical Society emerge from this work? Can we overcome our differences in order to arrive at a shared intention for the Society’s future?

The basis for our discussions will be the second draft together with all submitted contributions. The work will take place in plenary sessions as well as in small groups. Provision will also be made for the participation of members who are unable to travel to the conference.

We warmly invite you to take part in this shared social-artistic endeavor.
