How old can new approaches be?

Anthroposophy has recently been accused in media reports of only imitating science, of being outdated in its approach - regardless of the practical successes - or even unscientific and outdated. Even a reference to Goethe or Steiner is suspected by many people of wanting to negate the rapid changes of our time.
In this article, the question of contemporary approaches is addressed from the point of view of a natural scientist and references between anthroposophy and natural science are sought. Examples will be used to understand what contribution methods formulated by Goethe can make in our current situation and what future perspectives could develop from them.
