From 11 to 16 July Rudolf Steiner’s four Mystery Dramas will be performed with some new cast members at the Goetheanum, embedded in a conference on Meditation and Destiny.

Rudolf Steiner’s Mystery Dramas tell us about an inner space that we create ourselves and that can increasingly carry and transform us. Buffeted by both outer and inner events, we experience the progress and the increasing new forces of the individual protagonists in their community. The Mystery Drama Ensemble had the same experience. As in many other areas of life, the ensemble was exposed to stirring and challenging times in the last years. The traces this left in us too, inspired us – Gioia Falk (artistic director, eurythmy) and Christian Peter (dramatic director) – to assemble a new cast. Side by side, the newly joined and experienced performers will therefore make new aspects of the dramas visible.

The supporting programme will cast light from different perspectives and professional fields on the connection between the protagonists’ meditation and destiny: Vicke von Behr (Christian Community), Christiane Haid (Visual Art Section and Humanities Section), Ueli Hurter (Section for Agriculture, Executive Council at the Goetheanum) and Martina Maria Sam (Performing Arts Section: Eurythmy Research Institute) among others. Artistic courses will offer the opportunity for practical experience.
