The Brazilian pedagogue Paulo Freire (1921 - 1997) campaigned for the educational opportunity for everyone, including the unprivileged, the poorest. Respect for the knowledge of the other, the dialogue with this knowledge, is the essence of an education that starts from the reality of the other in his relationship to the world - in this sense an education that understands itself and wants to be as the practice of freedom.
